The machines are cur- rently used for the transmission of flight plans, computer data, and flight reservation infor- mation. The Zefir, Kobuz and Bocian sailplanes are represented by models, and there are flight instruments in addition. The Foka is a high-performance single- seater having a span of 49ft 2in and a maximum speed in smooth air of 161 m.p.h. Stalling speed is 62 m.p.h. The Zefir is another high- performance single-seater with a span of 55ft 9in; the Kobuz is an aerobatic single- seater (design factors -f7g to — 5g); and the Bocian is a high-performance two-seater. Muirhead & Co Ltd, Beckenham, Kent, England. The Muirhead mobile demonstration unit is used as a self-contained stand. Included in the wide range of instruments being demon- strated within the vehicle is the K-101-A auto- matic recording wave analyser, which is used in the investigation of noise and vibration problems in the aircraft industry. Visitors are invited to submit pre-recorded data for analysis. Another instrument being demon- strated is the D-930-A Muirhead-Wigan pre- cision R.M.S. decade voltmeter. Having an accuracy of ±0.05 per cent from 30c/s to 5kc/s, the instrument is used for the precise calibration of a.c. measuring instruments. During the Show, Muirhead's staff will be pleased to check the accuracy of a.c. instru- ments against that of the D-93O-A. Also being shown are the latest design synchros to British, NATO and American specifications, including type-approved syn- chros to MIL-S-2O7O8A. Synchro test equip- ment, devised to test size 08 to 23 synchros to Nord AS.30 (left) and AS.20 missiles Nord CT.20
