Very often there is unseemij;; jostling and scrambling. To the elderly, or those with small children, the process can be quite distressing. To the airlmr- it means a lot of extra staff, worry, and expense. : The ultimate in embarkation and disembarkation pro| cedures is that employed at Washington Dulles Airport,: where there are no ups or downs at all, and no walking! distance greater than across the floor of the terminal! building. One man per flight, helped by the aircraft cabii staff, usually does the whole job. As you land, the "mobile lounge" approaches the mid-airfield rendezvous LOUNGING AROUND WASHINGTON DULLES it mates with the door ... 'Flight International" photograph ... at the front (or another at the rear, depending on load) • ... the mobile terminal drives away from the aircraft. . . ... back towards the terminal where it docks at a gate passengers walk straight into emigration and customs
