Left, the Hawker Siddefey Andover C.I military tactical transport is equipped with the most powerful type of Rolls- Royce Dart turboprop, the 3,245 e.h.p. RDa.12, driving a 14ft 6in Dowty-Rotol propeller. A slightly less powerful civil version of this engine powers the Japanese YS-II airliner, and may re-engine many Convair 340s and 440s Relow, the new Rolls-Royce/MAN R&.I53 turbofan, developed for supersonic military aircraft. The example shown has a switch-in thrust deflector for V/STOL, and a reheat jetpipe to boost the thrust from some 7,000 to 11.0001b
