Sixty-one 737s have already been ordered by Deutsche Lufthansa and United Airlines. A twin-engine jet, the 737 is designed for low cost-per-mile operation on routes rang- ing up to 700 miles with full payload. It will be the most economic, practical and profit- able airplane of its type.
