SAAB 105 now in service The Saab 105"- twin-jet trainer, light attack and liaison aircraft, is now in service with the Swedish Air Force. Now rolling off the produc- tion lines at Saab at a high rate, the Saab 105 is a real multipurpose aircraft. In the Swedish Air Force the Saab 105 will play a very im- portant role not only in the pilot training programme, but also as an operational aircraft in the ground support role. * powered by two Turbomeca Aubisque turbofan engines each of approx. 740 kp (1.640 Ib) thrust. For ground attack missions, the Saab 105 has provision for several very effective armament alternatives including two air-to-surface guided missiles (each weighing up to 660 Ib), twelve 13.5 cm attack rockets, two pods each containing either one 30 mm cannon or up to nineteen 75 mm rockets, six 2501' or two 550 Ib bombs.
