The simulator will be delivered to Elmdon Airport, Birmingham, and will include a video-effects generator capable of pro- viding synthetic weather presentation. Designed to generate four targets, it can be extended both in the number of targets available and to include simula- tion of secondary radar. Cheaper Integrated Circuits Major reductions—in some cases in the order of 50 per cent—in the prices of inte- grated circuits have been announced by STC Semiconductors Ltd. As an example, the prices for the flat- pack version of the industrial MIC 946 Quad 2-input gate, which were 93s 6d each for quantities 1-24 and 75s each for 25 and over, are now 47s each for 1-99 and 40s 4d for 100-999, or about 10s per gate function. The new address of the European office of the Hughes Tool Company- Aircraft Division is 24 Oostvoornelaan The Hague, Holland. The Collins Radio Co, Dallas, Texas, has been selected to provide Loran C navigation, UHF communications, ADF and marker beacon avionics systems for the C-5A under a $5 million (£1.8 million) contract from the USAF. PEOPLE AND POSTS Mr Alan Bartlett has joined the board of Britten-Norman Ltd as financial director. Mr Hugh Dundas and Mr Ralph Gabriel have been appointed to the board of Redifon Ltd, a subsidiary of the Rediffusion Group. Following the retirement of Mr A. E. Jaquemet, Mr K. J. Ayres has been made general manager, technical services, of International Aeradio Ltd. The Solar Division of the International Harvester Co has appointed Mr J. R, Phillips turbomachinery sales manager, Mr P. L. Ward market development manager and Mr J. J. Ford, jr, manager of military sales.
