Because of the considerable importance of this review to many other industries, the CBI has taken a close interest in developments (through the chairman of the Public Purchasing Policy Committee) and is meeting one-quarter of the accoun- tant's fees and charges. Documents were sent to the Treasury at the end of December, and preliminary discussions have begun. Future Developments There is essentially a connection between the three sets of negotiations between Government and industry—on overheads, contract conditions, and the profit formula—but the stage has not been reached at which the several negotiations should be formally co-ordinated. Indeed, the Government view is and always has been that the contract conditions and profit formula revisions must be dealt with as wholly separate matters.
