Lanica (Lineas Aereas de Nicaragua SAwas founded in June 1945 with Pan American Airways holding 40% (now 5%)of the company's capital. Private interests now hold 85% of stock. Internal serviceswere begun in 1946 with a fleet of two Boeing 247 aircraft. At present the companyserves points in Nicaragua and operates international passenger and cargo services toMiami and San Salvador; also to San Pedro Sula (Honduras).
