The ten-seat Cessna 402-A offers a number of improve ments on the original model, including an optional separate entry door to the flight deck (convenient when the cabin is filled to capacity), an extended nose with additional baggage and electronics capacity, simplified pre-select flap control, im proved electrics, and new two-colour exterior styling combina tions. The extended nose of the Model 402-A provides 37 cu ft of space for 3501b of baggage and 2501b of electronics or acces sories, with access through two wide doors and a removable panel into the avionics compartment. This brings the total baggage capacity of the Cessna twin to 5901b. For all-cargo operations an oversize loading door with an opening 50in high and 40.7in wide can be provided. New 50A heavy-duty alternators are standard but 1O0A alternators are optional. A warning light for each unit alerts the pilot to any system malfunction. Disc brakes with three actuating cylinders are standard on the main landing gear, but oversize multiple-disc brakes are .optionally available. With the new flap control system the pilot pre-selects his desired flap settings, which are indicated by a vertical dial next to the actuating lever. Circuit breaker and console panel can be quickly removed for trouble-shooting and a new optional electrical elevator trim enables the pilot to keep his right hand free for the power controls. A new optional nosewheel fender protects the well and fuselage underside, and optional ice protection panels in polycarbonate material guard against skin damage. In the single-engined range the company has introduced the Skywagon 207 and Turbo-Skywagon 207. claimed to offer the largest cabins, the highest, useful loads, and the best cube/ weight ratio in their class. There is 165 cu ft for up to seven adults and their luggage in the 14ft long cabin. Forward doors on each side are 3ft wide and there is a large double cargo door aft on the starboard side. A lined separate baggage com partment is provided forward of the cabin with a capacity of 1201b, accessible through an exterior door. A 12 cu ft cargo pod of 3001b capacity (under floor) may be installed as an option. Standard usable fuel is 58 US gal but optional long-range tanks increase this to 77 US gal.
