The national display, organised by the Department with the collabora tion of the Air Industries Association of Canada (some 25 member companies are exhibiting), is supported by the DITC's International Defence Programs Branch and the Ministry of Transport's TOPS Program; the National Research Council of Canada, the Space Research Corporation and the Defence Research Establishment. Government sponsored exhibits portray V/STOL research; in ternational and STOL airport projects^ improved systems for ground handling of passengers and cargo and for Cus toms clearance; cold weather protective clothing for ground staff; and Earth resources development and preserva tion. National Research Council of Canada Ottawa 7 (CA, E) A photographic dis play of the Council's work in aero nautics, space, propulsion, air safety and mapping pays particular attention to a magnetron gauge placed on the moon by Apollo 12; a new wind tunnel for y/STOL research; Canada's ISIS B satel lite and other space research projects; high-altitude turbulence research; and, of special interest, the design of a noise-reduction stator for gas turbine com pressors. Abex Industries of Canada Ltd, Aero space Div Montreal (CA, E) Landing gear exhibits include DC-10 nose assembly (parallel production by Dowty Rotol); and Boeing 737 and DHC-5 Buffalo main legs. Among other exhibits are hydraulic powered controls for Boeing 747 and F.28 and an F.28 flap ball screw actuator. Also see Abex, US. Air Canada Ottawa (CA, E) Air Canada is participating in the display organised by the Canadian Government, on the theme of advanced passenger and cargo handling systems at inter national airports. Bowmar Canada Ltd Ottawa (CA, E) Instrumentation and electronics, sensing and display components; solid-state alpha-numeric displays for airborne nav/ comm equipment, desk-top calculators, etc. Bristol Aerospace (1968) Ltd Winnipeg (CA, E) The Mod 1 version of Black Brant IVB is shown. This two-stage rocket carries a 50kg payload to an alti tude of 930km. Also exhibited are developments of the 15K S1000 Mk 6 Mod 1 military j.a.t.o. rocket motor, now certificated for high-altitude or over load assisted take-offs on Boeing 727s National Research Council of Canada (above): gas turbine engine noise-reduction stator.
