HJGHT International, 13 February 1975 Alpine Luft-Transport AG (ALAG) was formed on November 21. 1961, and pro vides regular scheduled nights from Zurich/Kloten to Samedan (St Moritz) during the winter sport season between December 15 and March 31 each year. Air-taxi services are also offered to any destination within Switzerland and abroad. ALAG is owned by Oerlikon-Biihrle AG (42%), Flugzeughandels AG (42% ) and Swissair (16% ). Altair Airlines Inc began operations on December 19, 1966, and currently flies high-frequency commuter services from Philadelphia International Airport to six eastern states and to Washington DC. Points served are Harrisburg, Williams- port, Allentown and Wilkes-Barre/Scran-ton (Pennsylvania), Baltimore (Mary land), Richmond (Virginia), Wilmington (Delaware), Islip, White Plains and Albany (New York), and Hartford and Bridgeport (Connecticut). Altus Airlines currently operates scheduled commuter services between Altus (Oklahoma), Lawton (Oklahoma) and Dallas/Fort Worth in Texas. Twice- daily nights are scheduled on weekdays, one on Sunday. Charter cargo and air ambulance services are also carried out. Altus Airlines has only recently re started scheduled operations after a lapse of two years. AMAZ—Agence et Messageries Aerienne du Zaire (formerly AMAC—Agence et Messageries Aerienne du Congo) operates an extensive feeder network in Zaire over the routes Kinshasa-Lusanga-Idiof a-Ilebo - Kinshasa, Kinshasa - Boma- Moanda-Kinshasa, and also linking Moba and Kalemie to Lubumbashi, where ser vices connect with Air Zaire flights. Amber Airlines Pty Ltd operates a regular scheduled passenger service from Adelaide in South Australia to Ceduna. and then via Nullarbor Ports to Eucla, just inside the Western Australia border. Amistad Airlines Inc maintains scheduled passenger services in Texas between San Antonio International Air port and Del Rio International Airport. A Piper Cherokee Six flies this route twice daily in the afternoon, six times a week. One flight only is provided on Sunday. Angier Flying Service Inc provides scheduled airmail flights under contract to the US Post Office, using a Cessna 401. Antelope Airlines currently flies scheduled commuter services with Piper Aztecs twice daily between Gillette and Casper in the state of Wyoming. Ser vices are operated seven days per week. Fleet: Two Piper Aztec. Antilles Air Boats Inc was founded in February 1964 as an air-taxi operator by Charles F. Blair, formerly a captain with Pan Am. Today the airline flies over 120 daily scheduled inter-island seaplane services from Christiansted to Charlotte Amalie (St Thomas), West End and Road Town (Tortola), Cruz Bay (St John), Philipsburg (St Maarten), Isla Grande (San Juan, Puerto Rico) and Puerto Real (Fajardo, Puerto Rico). Apollo Airways Inc (not to be confused with the cargo operator of the same name based at Chicago) flies scheduled airmail services from Goleta to other points on the Californian west coast, including Santa Maria and Los Angeles. The company also provides air-taxi, air-ambulance, freight and hazardous- cargo services to all points in the United States. Head Office: 404 William Moffett Road. Apollo Airways Inc, the Chicago-based cargo operator, has CAB authorisation to provide scheduled cargo services to points in Illinois. It is doubtful, however, whether such services are actually in operation. Apollo Aviation Inc is no longer offer ing scheduled service as an Allegheny Commuter between Lima (Ohio), Colum bus and Toledo due to low traffic generation. Atlantic City Airlines Inc flies scheduled passenger services from the New Jersey shore resorts of Wildwood/Cape May and Atlantic City to Philadelphia and New York City. These services, which were inaugurated on June 15, 1970. are operated under the Allegheny Com muter label under a replacement ser vice agreement with Allegheny Airlines. Aurigny Air Services Ltd provides fre quent passenger and freight services within the Channel Islands, linking the three main islands of Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney. Other routes serve Cher bourg from Alderney, Guernsey, Jersey and Southampton, and Southampton from Alderney. Aurigny Air Services was formed in March 1968 as an asso ciate of Glos-Air Ltd. Avna Airways (Avna [Aviation-Natal] Pty Ltd) started operations in February 1965 with charter and air-taxi services. Scheduled flights commenced on Feb ruary 7, 1969, connecting Dundee, New castle and Vryheid (all in northern Natal) to Durban. Routes to Johannes burg (Jan Smuts Airport) were added on February 1, 1972, and there are now 44 passenger and freight services per week between these points. Baja Airlines Inc flies scheduled com muter services from Long Beach in California to remote regions of Baja, California, and Sonora in Mexico. Four flights a week serve Ensenada, Loreto, San Felipe, San Francisquito, Santa Rosalia, Punta Chivato, San Quintin, Guerro Negro, Abreojos. Meling Ranch, Isla de Cedros, Puerto Penasco and San Ignacio. Other services to Mexico are planned for later this year. Baja Air lines Inc was founded on May 9, 1972, and until January 31, 1975, was known as Club Baja, California. Bakersfleld Aviation Services is an air-taxi company which is certificated to operate passenger and cargo flights from Bakersfield, some 100 miles north of Los Angeles, to anywhere in the USA. In addition, Bakersfield Aviation Ser vices flies scheduled airmail services under contract to the US Post Office between Bakersfield, Fresno and Los Angeles. Head Office: PO Box 5457. Bakhtar Afghan Airlines was set up by the Government in 1967 to take over domestic operations from the national carrier Ariana and to develop services to isolated communities in Afghanistan's mostly mountainous regions. Scheduled flights now connect Kabul, the capital, to Bamiyan, Chakhcharan, Herat, Khwahan, Kunduz, Maimana and Mazar-i-Shari. There are in addition services between Kunduz and Darwaz via Faizabad and Khwahan, and from Kunduz to Sheghnan.
