FLIGHT International, 13 February 1975 TAM (Taxi Aereo Manila) began its first scheduled passenger services an November 25, 1974, with Cessna 402s, linking Sao Paulo, Sao Jose dos Campos and Rio de Janeiro. From its bases at Rio Sao Paulo, Goiania and Curitiba, TAM also undertakes extensive charter and air taxi services. The company is considering the purchase of EMB-110 Bandeirantes. Tampa Air Centre Inc operates sched uled airmail services under contract over two routes in Florida, using Beech 18s. Routes are Tampa - Orlando - Jack sonville-Savannah (Georgia) and Tampa - Miami - Fort Lauderdale - Fort Myers. Tampa is also authorised to pro vide passenger and freight charter ser vices from its base at Tampa Inter national Airport to anywhere within the US. Tanana Air Taxi—see Alaska Central Air Tangalooma Air Taxis provides one daily connection between Brisbane and the Tangalooma Tourist Resort on More-ton Island, lying off the Queensland coast. The 20min journey is operated with a Britten-Norman Islander, leav ing Brisbane at 0930hr. There are also additional services on Fridays and Sun days. Tarca (Taxi Aereo de Caldas Ltda) operates scheduled commuter services in Colombia, currently providing two daily services from Manizales, the country's centre for the mining and coffee industries, to the capital Bogota, and to Medellin, 80 miles to the north on the Cauca. The airline also under takes charter services to anywhere in Colombia. Tarca started operations in 1960 with two single-engine aeroplanes. Head Office: Manizales, Colombia. <S 27472. Taos Airways no longer provides sched uled passenger services between Taos in northern New Mexico and Albuquerque. TAT (Touraine Air Transport), formed in 1968, now operates a large network of scheduled air services in Metropoli tan France. Routes flown include Lyon - Poitiers - Tours, Lyon - Clermont-Fer rand - Tours, Lyon - Clermont-Ferrand -Toulouse, Limoges - Bergerac - Agen, Lyon - Poitiers - La Rochelle, Deauville - Rouen - Lyon and Lille - Rouen - Nantes. Taxi Avia France (TAF), known prev iously as Avia Taxi France, currently operates a daily scheduled roundtrip service between St Nazaire/Montoir and Toulouse via Nantes, using a Fokker F.27. Charters are also undertaken with in France and to other European destin ations. TAF, which was formed in 1965, is now part of the TAT Group, which also includes Rousseau Aviation. Territory Airlines Pty Ltd—see Talair Pty Ltd Thorpe's Transport Pty Ltd operates scheduled passenger services with Piper Aztecs from Horn Island to Yorke Island, both lying off the Cape York Peninsula in northern Queensland, and from Horn Island to Bamaga on the mainland. There are currently two weekly flights to Yorke Island (Monday and Friday), and one on Fridays to Bamaga. Chief Executive: K. Thorpe, owner. Fleet: Two Piper Aztec. Ticair Charters Ltd was founded on October 7, 1968, and has been a sub sidiary of the Nairobi-based Caspair Ltd since December 1972. The company now employs a Britten-Norman Islander on a daily scheduled service (seven days a week) between Lamu, Malindi, Kilifi and Mombasa. A Cessna 206 and Piper Aztec are used as back-up aircraft and for charter work, mainly to the Kenya and Tanzania Game Parks. Time Air Ltd operates scheduled pas senger services in the Province of Alberta, linking Lethbridge with Cal gary, Medicine Hat, Red Deer, Edmon ton and Grand Prairie. The airline also holds domestic and international charter permits. Time Air was originally founded as Lethbridge Air Service Ltd and took the present title in 1969. Tobey Inc was incorporated in 1953 to fly non-scheduled passenger and cargo services. In addition, the company operates scheduled night flights with high-priority items of US mail. Routes are Portland (Maine) -Manchester (New Hampshire) - Albany (New York)-New ark (New Jersey), Providence (Rhode Island )-Hartford (Connecticut) - Al bany-Newark, and Plattsburgh (New York) - Burlington (Vermont) - Albany -New York LaGuardia-Rochester. Tonga Internal Air Service, founded on October 1, 1972, is owned and operated by the Tonga Tourist and Development Company. Scheduled passenger services are operated with Britten - Norman Islanders between Tongatapu and the islands of Vava'u and 'Eua. Torres Strait Airways Pty Ltd is a new airline which was formed in spring 1974 to serve the islands in the Torres Strait between Australia and Papua New Guinea. The airline expected to begin charter operations in the summer fol lowed by the introduction of a sched uled round trip, calling at Horn Island (the airport for Thursday Island), Banks, Bulgrave, Yam, Saibai, Yorke and Murray Island, using a Britten-Norman Islander. These are believed to have been deferred. Touraine Air Transport—see TAT. Transafricair provides a thrice-weekly passenger service, on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, with small turboprop aircraft between Kigali, the capital of the central African state of Rwanda, and Bukavu across the border in Zaire (formerly the Congo). Fleet: Two Piper Aztec, one Cessna 206. Trans Magic Airlines has changed its name to Air Idaho. Trans-Mo Airlines Inc (Trans-Missouri Airlines), began operations in Missouri in November 1966. Cities currently served include Kansas City, St Louis,. Sedalia, Jefferson City, Lake of the Ozarks and Cape Girardeau. Cessna 402s are utilised on these routes, which are served twice-daily during the week. Passenger and cargo charters are also available. Trans Mountain Air Ltd is a new com muter airline which began operations in the latter half of 1974. Scheduled pas senger services are currently provided over the routes Rock Springs - Rawlins -Saratoga - Laramie (all in Wyoming) - Denver (Colorado), and Gillette - Doug las - Laramie - Denver. There are two daily services between Rock Springs and Denver, and one daily flight between Gillette and Denver, operated Monday to Friday. Twice-daily scheduled services depart Campbell River to serve Quatum River, Stuart River to Fredericks Arm, Phillips Arm, Loughborough Inlet, Topaze Har bour, Sonora Island, Nodales Channel, Blind Channel and Way Points. The Bute schedule serves Moh Creek, P & T, Taylors Camp, Eva Creek, Maion Log ging, Southgate and Way Points, the Knight Inlet schedule operates to Kyu- quot Logging, Wahkash Creek and Way Points, and the North Coast route links Campbell River to Port Neville Logging, Minstrel Island, Thompson Sound, Gil ford Island, Beaver Cove, Port McNeil, Sointula and Alert Bay.
