FLIGHT International. I July 1978 59 KUWAIT AIRWAYS CONTINUED EXPANSION Due to increases in our fleet of 707, 737 & 747 aircraft we currently have vacancies in the engineering department for the following grades of staff. Instrument & Electrical Engineers: Required for inspection and overhaul duties. Preference will be given to applicants with a wide knowledge of American Aircraft instrument and component overhaul, workshop layout and inspection procedure. A & C Licensed Engineers: Engineers licensed on 707 are required on both line and hangar maintenance. Preference will be given to engineers also holding 747 approvals. Radio & Radar Engineers: Licensed engineers on 707, particularly those with 747 experience are required. Workshop experience and approval would also be considered. Quality Control Engineers: Applications are invited from suitably qualified licensed engineers for the implementation of Quality Control procedures in all areas of maintenace. Technical Development Engineer: Should have Mechanical Engineering diploma or equivalent with 5 years on 707, 747, JT9D, JT3D Defect Analysis. Licence/Approval will be advantageous. Statistics Officer: Should have degree or equivalent with 5 years' experience in Aircraft industry preparing fleet performance and statistics. Experience in wide body jet will be advantageous. Modification Engineer: Evaluation and raising local modifications, repair schemes and engineering drawings. Should have 5 years in a similar occupation holding HNC/HND or equivalent qualifications. But consideration will be given to those holding Boeing 707/747 Licences/Approval. Weight, Configuration, Performance Engineer: To control and produce weight and balance manual. Produce seating, Freighting configurations. Produce and maintain engine. Aircraft performance charts. A mathematical qualification is the prime requirement. Planning Engineers—Maintenance Schedule KAC has a vacancy for maintenance schedule planning engineer. He will be responsible to the Planning Manager for planning aircraft requirements, modification implementation and spare parts provisioning. Preference will be given to applicants with experience on 747 aircraft and JT9D engines. Consideration is also given for applicants with experience on 707s and JT3D engines. Planning Engineers—Power Plant: KAC also has a requirement for a power plant planning engineer to be responsible for engine stagger, Power plant shop workload and service bulletin implementation. Preference will be given to applicants with experience on 747 aircraft and JT9D engines. Consideration is also given for applicants with experience on 707s and JT3D engines. Terms of employment for the above positions include: Tax free salary £9,500/10,500. Free furnished accommodation. 40 days annual leave.
