1614 FLIGHT International, 28 October 1978 Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Co., Ltd. has vacancies for PLANNING ENGINEERS We are looking for men in the 30-40 year age group who have completed a recognised engineering Apprenticeship and qualified to HNC standard in Mechanical Engineering. ONC or Full City and Guilds Certificate or equivalent may be acceptable if backed with extensive aircraft maintenance planning experience. The duties are various and include supervision of a team of Production Planners engaged in: 1. Production of Aircraft major work programmes, Avionic, Engine, Hydraulic & Pneumatic component overhauls. 2. Estimating workloads for activities as in (1) above. Preference will be given to applicants having any or all of the following qualifications: a. Experience in modern methods of Production Planning. b. Overhaul experience with Pratt & Whitney JT3, JT8; Rolls Royce RB211 and Dart Engines. c. Knowledge of machine shop practices and machine loading controls. d. Job manhour & material estimating by trades in respect of (b) and (c). e. Heavy Maintenance experience of Boeing 707, 727, 737, 747 or Lockheed L1011 aircraft. The minimum salary will be HK$7,500 per month (equivalent to £9,550 stg. per annum approx. at current rates of exchange). Taxation is low in Hong Kong and at present does not exceed a maximum of 15% of gross earnings. Free accommodation with heavy fijmiture, refrigerator and room air-conditioner is provided. Home leave of six weeks per annum with pay and passages, for the employee, his wife and up to the value of three full fares for his children who are under 18 years of age. There is a provident fund scheme and medical coverage is provided. An annual bonus based on Company results is normally paid.
