In these days of energy conservation aircraft must operate economically. This sets a major challenge to the specialist in performance theory and practice who must devise the operating techniques. The lecturers are specialists in industry, research or teaching establishments. They detail the most modern techniques with illustrations drawn from a wide spectrum of current aircraft, military and civil. AIRCRAFT PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT 11-15 June 1979 Course Director: M. E. Eshelby. Cranfield's Jetstream 100 series aircraft provide the flying classroom labora tories for this course. Participants will obtain practical experience of basic flight test methods and the data acquisition and analysis required to obtain standard ised performance characteristics for an aircraft. Methods of presenting perform ance characteristics in aircrew manuals to obtain the best operation procedures are considered.
