506 FLIGHT International, 17 February 1979 MANCHESTER AIRPORT At our Manchester Engineering Base, we overhaul and maintain our HS748 and BAC I-11 aircraft. We now wish to recruit the following staff:— CHIEF AVIONICS ENGINEER Reporting to the Deputy Production Manager and responsible for the total avionics function at Manchester. Applicants must be mature engineers and hold comprehensive C.A.A. licence cover and able to show evidence of supervisory ability. This is a middle management appoint ment, which carries an attractive salary. QUALITY CONTROL ENGINEER Applicants must hold minimum of C.A.A. licence 'A' on BAC l-l I. This is a monthly staff appointment which carries an attractive salary and will suit a mature engineer with quality control experience. AIRCRAFT TRADESMEN/ WOMEN We invite applications for positions in the following trades:— Airframe/Engine, Electrical/Instru ment, Radio/Radar. Applicants must have served a recognised apprentice ship/training and be experienced on large pressurised jet aircraft. Starting salary £76 to £83 p.w. (depending on C.A.A. qualifications). ABERDEEN DYCE AIRPORT BASE ENGINEER Due to internal restructuring re quiring relocation at Main Base, a vacancy occurs for a Base Engineer at Aberdeen. An engineer, licensed in more than one discipline relating to HS748 aircraft preferred. Proven administrative experience necessary. The salary will reflect the qualifica tions and experience necessary to carry out the duties involved. LICENSED ENGINEERS Vacancies exist at the following airports for Licensed Engineers:— GLASGOW—Dual or single licence engineers, engine and/or airframe. Experience with HS748 A/F or Dart engine an advantage. NEWCASTLE — Licensed engineer, avionics Lie. 9.4 or multi-cat. pre ferred. GATWICK— Dual or single licensed engineers, airframe, engine or avi onics. Experience with B707, B727, BAC l-l I, HS748 or Comet aircraft an advantage. Only applicants with pressurised, multi-engined aircraft experience considered. Salaries for 1979 are at present being reviewed. The usual benefits associated with a major airline apply.
