1782 Appointments and Situations FLIGHT International, 26 May 1979 DAN MANCHESTER AIRPORT With the expansion of our main tenance programme and the intro duction of Viscount aircraft, we now wish to make the following appoint ments and invite applications from maleorfemale Engineers. PROJECT ENGINEER — VISCOUNT The Project Engineer will be in volved in all engineering matters relevant to the Viscount aircraft, including liaison with manufac turers representatives, government agencies and aircrew. Investigating and appraising recurring defects and reporting on a continuous basis on all aspects of maintenance. Applicants should hold C.A.A. li cence 'A' and 'C on Viscount air craft, consideration will, however, be given to 'A' licence holders with good engine experience. This is a middle management appointment which carries an attractive salary. LICENSED ENGINEERS Applicants must be experienced Engineers who hold C.A.A. licence 'A' or 'C or 'X' applicable to HS 748 or BAC 1211 or Viscount air craft. Preference will be given to Engineers licensed in more than one paragraph. These are uniformed contract appointments of three years' duration, and are unaccompanied (although short family visits to Oman are possible). Success ful applicants will normally be appointed in the rank of Flight Lieutenant (although exceptionally well qualified and experienced officers in Fighter Control, Engineering and Rapier appointments may be considered for Squadron Leader posts) and annual emoluments commence at the equivalent of £9,750 (Sqn. Ldr.) and £8, 075 (Fit. Lt.) plus flying pay of £3,715, at the current rate of exchange. There is also a terminal gratuity of approximately £5,000, and all emoluments are tax free and fully remittable. Fully furnished air-conditioned mess-type accommodation and services are provided free, and 20 days home leave is granted three times a year with air passages paid.
