FLIGHT International, 3 November 1979 Appointments and Situations 1537 air malawi ENGINEERING MANAGER Air Malawi invites applications from suitably qualified airline engineers with previous management experience for the position of Engineering Manager at their well equipped Engineering Base at Chileka Airport, Blantyre, Malawi. The position is that of head of Engineering Division. The prime responsibility is the administration of a very competent team of skilled and semi-skilled engineers and technicians for the maintenance and overhaul of the Air Malawi fleet. The fleet consists of a BAC1 -11, Viscount and 2 B.N. Islanders. 2 HS748's, a Component overhaul is only on a small scale. Of equal importance is the development and training of local staff. Applicants must have extensive background experience of current aircraft maintenance philosophy in a small airline in an Approved Organisation environment. Applicants should hold current A.M.E. licences or be members of a Professional Engineering Body. Salary by negotiation. An initial contract of three years which carries a 25% tax free gratuity on completion of contract. In addition, 36 days leave per annum, rent free housing and hard furniture, company car, education allowances and passages, generous removal and settling in allowances, rebate travel and medical aid scheme.
