Applicants must have held commissioned rank as a pilot in one of the British Armed Forces, and have retired recently or be on the point of retirement. The age limit is strictly 45. Qualifications are:— FIGHTER PILOTS (for Hunter and Jaguar aircraft) A good military flying background, with considerable experience in the ground attack role, is essential. Ref: No: 4 HELICOPTER PILOTS Good all-round helicopter flying experience in a military role is essential, preferably on turbine-engined aircraft, and an instrument rating is desirable. Ref: No: 3 TRANSPORT PILOTS Previous experience of medium transport aircraft in a military role is essential. Ref: No: 2 These are uniformed contract appointments of three years duration, and are unaccompanied (although short family visits to Oman are possible). Emoluments commence at the equivalent of £11,500 p. a. at current exchange rates, with annual increments of £1,500 after the first and second years service, and there is a terminal graturity of approx: £5000, all normally tax free. Mess accommodation and services are provided without charge, and 20 days home leave is granted three times annually with air passages paid.
