FLIGHT International, 3 January 1981 Airmec promotes design-maintenance link INTERDEPENDENCE between de sign, construction and maintenance will be the theme of Airmec 81— the International Aircraft Mainte nance Engineering Exhibition and Conference—at Zurich's Zuspa halls between February 9 and 12. This will be the second in the highly-successful series of internationally - orientated aircraft maintenance conference/ exhibitions. Airmec '79 was attended by over 2,000 delegates and the organisers are expecting even more participants this year. More than 90 exhibitions. Airmec 79 was attended it is worth noting that the Flemish Aerospace Group (Flag) represents more than 60 individual companies. This year's conference is heavily orientated towards airline mainten ance, although many of the discus sions will benefit military operators as well. The exhibition will have something for everybody, be they civil or military operators. Swissair is organising a study tour of its maintenance facility at Zurich Airport on February 13. This includes visits to the engine test cell, and overhaul shop, maintenance control centre, non-destructive test facility, Hangar I, docks with pneumatic and hydraulic test equipment. Hangar III with microfilm centre, and anechoic test chamber for electronic com ponents. There is no charge for the tour, but those interested should register in advance with Mr J.
