•&/K ' -Hi Sea Harriers on Invincible HMS Invincible is the Royal Navy's first through-deck anti-submarine cruiser. The Sea Harrier FRS.l is the Navy's latest fixed-wing aircraft. Together they make a unique V/stol team which may set an example to other navies. Three ASW cruisers, Invincible, Illustrious and Ark Royal, have been ordered. The 16,000-ton vessels will carry five Sea Harriers and ten Sea King helicopters and will be assigned command and con trol as well as fleet protection duties. The Navy has ordered 34 Sea Har riers from British Aerospace. The air craft will be used for deck-launched intercept, combat air patrol, anti-ship and shore-attack missions.
