On October 1, 1965, the company was reorganised as a Scandinavian charter consortium owned by ABA iSwedish Airlines), DDL (Danish Air lines) and DNL (Norwegian Airlines) in the proportion 3:2:2. Fleet: one Convair CV-580, two Cessna Citation. Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) is the designated national carrier of three sovereign nations, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. The owners of SAS are, in the proportion of 2:2:3, Det Danske Luftfart- selskap A/S (Danish Airlines), Det Norske Luftfartselskap A/S (Norwegian Airlines), and AB Aerotransport (Swedish Airlines). These three limited companies are in turn, through shareholdings, owned 50 per cent by private individuals or enterprises, and 50 per cent by their respective national gov ernments. SAS was formed in 1946 to oper ate scheduled transatlantic services, and all routes of the three airlines are now operated by SAS. An extensive network of Scandina vian and European scheduled passenger and cargo services is operated, together with routes to Africa, the Middle and Far East, and North, Central, and South America. Scanair is an associate company, owned jointly by ABA, DDL and DNL, which oper ates charter and inclusive-tour services.
