Cargo charter operations with two Boeing 707-320Cs began in July 1978 from London-Gatwick, but were sus pended during 1980 following financial dif ficulties leading to receivership. During the spring of 1981 it was announced that the company was to be refinanced and intended to resume operations in due course. These plans, however, failed to materialise, and the company has been wound up. Seagreen Air Transport has operated cargo charter services in the Caribbean area since 1964. The company holds a Foreign Carrier Air Permit covering flights from Miami, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands to Antigua and the Caribbean Islands. Scheduled passenger services are operated from Tegucigalpa to points in Belize, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, Colombia and to New Orleans. An extensive domestic network is also operated. Initial services link Barinas with Acarigua, Caracas, Barquisimeto, and Porlamar. Authority to serve San Antonio, Merida, Maraeaibo and Oro Negro is also held. Scheduled passenger and cargo services now link eight of the nine islands in the Azores archipelago, namely Santa Maria, Sao Miguel, Terceira, Graciosa, Sao Jorge, Pico, Faial, and Flores Island. SFAIR was originally formed in July 1975 as the operating division of Secmafer Avia tion, and was reorganised in February 1980. Worldwide cargo charters are operated, including the carriage of livestock, outsize cargoes, urgently needed spares, and flights in support of relief and aid programmes.
