Mng lanaem series controls. For instructors who don't like surprises. Did you change to r-•:••:' o" '••! ''.'•• No sir. I thought 21.9. Conventional style electrome chanical control heads don't allow an instructor to see the selected fre quency once the student has been assigned control of the radios. He just has to hope the student doesn't forget to change the radio frequency when required. Now, with King Tandem Series electronic controls for COMM, NAV, ADF, HF radios and transponders, things can be different. Dual elec tronic control heads can be installed, one in each cockpit, to operate one remote mounted radio. Any frequency or code change initiated using either control will be displayed immediately on the other control head. The display is electronic—a 7 segment gas dis charge readout. No longer must the instructor assign control of the radios to the student and then be left in the dark as to what frequencies are being selected. With the installation of an optional switch the instructor may also disable the student's controls. While this prevents the student from operating his controls, he can still see which frequencies are being selected by the instructor. Tandem Series Controls include the KFS 598A COMM, KFS 564A NAV, KFS 586A ADF, KFS 594 HF and the KFS 576A Transponder. The COMM, NAV and ADF radios display both the active and standby frequencies which can be conveniently interchanged with the touch of a button. In addi tion, the COMM, NAV and ADF Con trols include a microprocessor which KFS 576A Transponder KFS594 HF
