AVIATION WPOINTMENTi your technical exrx where the future is in Training Our international success as one of the world's most popular airlines owes much to a corporate commitment to training throughout every aspect of our operations, and nowhere is this attention to excellence more pronounced than in the Technical Training we provide for our Ground Engineers and Flight Crew. So if you're looking for a challenging career join us near Heathrow in one of the following positions: / ENGINEERING TRAINING OFFICERS We arc looking for individuals who have gained an engineering apprenticeship, or equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering or Avionics, to become integral members of our highly professional team. You must have theoretical knowledge to at least CAA licence standard, and'be able to show a keen interest in training and modern training technology. We can offer refresher courses and training in the latest instructional techniques, and you'll soon be involved in directing and controlling the learning process of our Engineers, making sure they achieve an excellent standard across a wide range of courses — some of which you will help to design. Ref: MA/427/43. TECHNICAL TRAINING OFFICERS If you have a thorough knowledge of the aviation industry, you can conduct a wide variety of training programmes at our Flight Crew Training Centre. Your prime responsibility will be to provide instruction in a conventional classroom training; in audio-visual programmes; and in practical exercises on Cockpit Procedure Trainers, Fixed Based Simulators and full Flight Simulators. Naturally, you will need to have at least five years' experience of aircraft and their systems, along with a keen interest in training and modern training technology. With a recognised apprenticeship and a flight crew background in either the military or commercial sphere, you should preferably possess an appropriate teaching qualification, along with relevant instructional experience. Direct familiarity with British Airways' own aircraft and procedures is not, however, essential, as training will be provided where required. Ref: MA/427/44. These are positions which will involve working closely with other people — often as part of a team — so you should also be a good communicator, both orally and in writing. A full range of training aids and equipment will be available, and you must be able to use these to maximum advantage. In addition to the performance-related salaries of £12,000 p.a. (including Outer London Weighting) there will be considerable scope for progression, dependent on the acquisition of further skills and responsibilities. Benefits include profit sharing, holiday bonus, and favourable holiday travel opportunities.
