IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR THE TOP SEARCH AND SURVEILLANCE RADAR, YOU'VE FOUND IT. ^***SK* ir Sometimes the hardest thing for a search-and-rescue operation to find is the right radar system. That's why we designed the Bendix/ King RDR-1400C color weather radar. And that's why the 1400C, an off-the-shelf unit, is the system of choice for govern- • ment and industrial flight departments conducting search-and-rescue, offshore oil and gas exploration, surveillance and paramilitary operations. When they evaluate the RDR 1400C, they find a radar with a minimum range setting of .5nm, with range marks at .25nm intervals. They find a radar with three dif ferent search modes: One to reject sea clutter returns and find small craft and buoys; one to paint surface phenomena, such as oil slicks; and one to provide short-range precision mapping. They find a radar that complies with TSO C-102, enabling land or sea approaches in 200-foot ceiling, '/2-mile visibility minimums. A radar that, when equipped with a graphics interface unit, can automatically show target latitude and longitude along with NAV sensor data on a moving map display. A radar that offers the BeaconTrac® beacon tracking mode with DO-172/16 codes, checklist storage and display capability, and full-color pre sentations of weather returns. What's more, the RDR 1400C delivers a full lOkW of power, a key factor in detect ing small targets. In fact, the 1400C can locate a 9-meter (30-foot) wooden boat in Sea State 3 from lOnm away, operating at a typical helicopter altitude of 457 meters (1500 feet). But if you think a radar with all these Mil-Spec capabilities should be expensive, you'll find yourself pleasantly surprised. And along with its excellent value, the RDR 1400C is covered by the Bendix/ King standard two-year, no-hassle war ranty. Because we don't believe you should have to sacrifice performance in the never-ending quest for economy.
