PEOPLE LOVAUX Lovaux has appointed Peter Purdy as managing director, replacing David Lock, who moves to newly formed sister company FLS Aerospace as managing director. Lock con tinues as chairman of Lovaux. Purdy was formerly managing director of Normalair Garrett. VALLEY-TODECO Lamson & Sessions subsidiary Valley-Todeco has appointed Richard Czuleger vice-president sales and marketing. He leaves as vice-president sales of Simmonds Fastner Technologies, Placentia, California. AIR INDIA Ashok * Vaish, now regional manager for Air India, has been upgraded to regional director for the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Scandinavia. LITTON Litton Systems' Aero products division has named Paul Finley as business area manager for the disposition of all surplus naviga tion equipment for the division. He is based at the Moorpark, California, headquarters of Aero products. GENERAL DYNAMICS SPACE Three new directors have been appointed to General Dynamics Space Systems Division. Thomas Merrill becomes director of esti mating, Ted Johnston, division planning, and Michael Gass, facility services. Vincent Sudlow METAIR AIRCRAFT Vincent Sudlow and George Henshaw have joined Metair Aircraft as sales executive and operations director respectively. DUNLOP AVIATION Dunlop Aviation division's sup plier of the year award for 1988 is Spencer Clark of Rotherham, a subsidiary of Williams Holdings. It is a major supplier of a wide range of metal products, and supplies Dunlop largely with aircraft brake segments. LOCKHEED Lockheed Aeronautical systems appoints Tom Burbage vice- president new business develop ment, reponsible for activities for US and foreign governments as well as for subcontract work on major commercial aircraft programmes. He was previously based in Washington D.C. as vice-president operations. James Summers assumes Burbage's old role, co-ordinating the firm's relations with the Defense Department, the armed forces, and various Government agen cies. Lloyd Graham has also been appointed executive vice- president and general manager programmes at Lockheed Aero nautical Systems. FRAZER-NASH Frazer-Nash has created a new post of group director, business development, and appointed James Smith. He has been direc tor of the technology division since January 1988. Smith's old position has been filled by Rick McCann, formerly manag ing director of Frazer-Nash Scientific. CASTLEBERRY Castleberry Instruments and Avionics has named Arthur (Art) Jackson national sales manager, as part of its internal restructuring. Ottis Cameron has joined the company as its western region sales manager, and Ernie Schmalzer as eastern region sales manager. Alex Roberts SHORT BROTHERS Alex Roberts has been promoted to deputy managing director of Short Brothers, as well as continuing in his role in cor porate sales and marketing. He will assume responsibility for the commercial aircraft division. EAA AVIATION FOUNDATION The EAA Aviation Foundation has been awarded the US Federal Aviation Administration Admin istrator's national championship award for excellence in aviation education. EAST MIDLANDS AIRPORT The UK East Midlands Airport chief fire officer Alan Webb has retired after 24 years service, and his vacant position is being filled by Roger Fisher. IHI Roger Fisher BRITISH AEROSPACE Ian Woodward has left Westland to join British Aerospace as head of public affairs for the commer cial aircraft division. Charles Carr has joined British Aerospace Dynamics as head of public affairs, after four years with Royal Ordnance. EMERY Emery Worldwide now has a six- sector international structure: UK, Middle East, and Africa; Continental Europe; Pacific; Asia; Latin America; and Japan. Reporting to vice-president international Brian Costar are: Christopher Buckerfield, vice- president UK, Middle East, and Africa; Yutako Saito, president Japan; Jules Schnyder, vice- president Europe; Raymond Verrall, vice-president Asia, as well as Pacific for a interim period; and Raymond Young, vice-president Latin America. AAR HARDWARE Frank Quintaner had joined AAR Hardware as director of quality assurance, based in Hawthorne, California. HYSOL AEROSPACE Dexter Adhesives & Structural Materials divison has appointed Jack White vice-president and general manager of its Hysol aerospace product line.
