PEOPLE MCDONNELL DOUGLAS McDonnell Douglas Helicopter has announced .the appointment of seven vice-presidents and two directors. The vice-presidents and their respective divisions are: Dean Borgman, Advanced Product Development and Tech nology division; Stuart Dodge AH-64 division; Leonard Deney, Business Support division, Norman Hirsh, General Product division; Alan Haggerty, LHX division; James Schwalm, Production Support division; Paul Henney, Quality Man agement Systems division. Elizabeth Karabatsos has been named director of government and civic affairs, and Dale Willis is to become director of public affairs. McDonnell Douglas says that the new appointments represent the first phase of management restruc turing which will eventually include the review of more than 800 positions. McDonnell Aircraft has named James Sinnet vice- president of engineering. He will replace Herman Hamm, who is retiring after 32 years' service with the company. Sinnett's last position was as vice-president for new aircraft products. Douglas Aircraft has named the marketing team to work under its new total quality management system. The ten general managers and their areas of responsibility are: Charles Ahern and Ronald Wasikowski, covering North America; Lewis Dileo and James Mackenzie, responsible for the Pacific region and Asia; flK> ' A ~: '" aP ">' •H IP; lk\ WI Wmmt ILJ HU ^H nm HUMPHREY TAKES OVER AT PLYMOUTH John Humphrey, formerly deputy operations manager of Brymon Airways, has been appointed manager of Ply mouth City Airport. Humphrey takes o\er from Brymon oper ations manager Brian Beal (right), who previously com bined both roles. Brymon and Plymouth City Airport are owned by the Plimsoll Line. Thomas Epperson, handling Latin America and the Caribbean; James Hennessy and Ves Zommers, covering Europe; and Rudolf Weber, in charge of the Middle East and Africa. Richard Jones will be in charge of market development, and William Messecar will be responsible for business planning and management. Ron McKelvey FAIRCHILD Ron McKelvey has promoted to executive been vice- president and chief operating officer. He was previously vice president of quality and certi fication. Reporting to him in his new position will be Crestview Aerospace Corporation and Fairchild's Human Resources, Engineering, Product Devel opment, and Customer Support departments. DA "Chip" Cipolla has been promoted to the newly created post of execu tive vice-president and chief marketing officer. He will be responsible for domestic and international marketing, contracts, legal, corporate communications, and public relations. George Williamson is to be promoted to executive vice- president and chief financial offi cer. He will be responsible for all financial functions and for Loma Enterprises. GALILEO The Europe-based computerised reservation system con-sortium has named Hans Eisele vice- president product development. Eisele joins Galileo from Swis sair, one of the founding partners of Galileo, where he was head of computer centres. Husam Abo Ghazaleh ROYAL JORDANIAN Husam Abo Ghazaleh has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Royal Jordanian. He succeeds AH Ghandour, who resigned in August after 27 years' service with Jordan's national carrier. Husam Abo Ghazaleh joined Royal Jordanian after 20 years' service with the Royal Jordanian Air Force. He was appointed vice-president engineering and maintenance in 1987, and became deputy president in June this year. BAA British airports operator BAA has announced that its chief execu tive, Jeremy Marshall, has resigned from the company with immediate effect, to pursue busi ness interests elsewhere. Until a successor has been appointed the Chairman, Sir Norman Payne, will assume the chief executive's responsibilities. Marshall was recruited from Hanson two years ago, to head the privatised company and identify new busi ness opportunities.
