Returned to airport Collided with Mitsubishi Mu-2 at taxiway intersection. Overshot runway while landing in heavy rain with tailwind Landed in rainstorm and skidded off runway. Wing panel fell on to runway durmg landing and fuel leaked on to runway. Crew bus knocked 0.6m off wingtip. I Krueger flap bullnose separated after gimbal fitting failure. Wingtip struck rudder of parked Dash 8. Smoke in cockpit from overheating transformer Took off, then settled hack on runway and overran, causing serious damage to gear, Tug manoeuvring between stands embedded itself in port wingtip. Corroded main landing gear trunnion failed during pushback. Was due for inspection in August 1990, and had not been removed in aircraft's eight-year service. Fleet check initiated. Engine failure. Suspected foreign obj ect damage. While cruising at 31,000ft (9,450m) the aircraft suddenly climbed 1,500ft (460m). Captain took control and diverted to Darwin Autopilot problems, r Fan blade broke in CFM56-3C engine near top of climb. Crew ihrotded engine back and returned to Gatwick. Fan blade broke in CFM56-3C engine near top of climb. Crew shut down damaged engine and diverted to East Midlands Airport, Nosewheel failed to lock when selected down, A ground engineer who entered the nosewheel bay to inspect the problem was killed when the nosegear collapsed. Pushback began before aircraft brakes released, causing collapse of nosegear. : Both aircraft awaiting take-off, Thai 747 behind BA 757. Thai cleared ahead of BA to meet slot, and, in turning to taxi round the 757, hit its taiiwith wingtip. Birdstrike broke cockpit, injuring co-pilot, Indian Airlines reports this as sixth damaging birdstrike this month and 52nd since January (Reuter). While taxiing struck Aer Lingus 737's elevator with wingiip Aircraft returned to land for a second time, having failed again to retract gear. Brakes failed, and it overran wet runway. Catastrophic bearing failure on starboard outer main wheel Overran runway in poor visibility and heavy rain, crossed a road killing eight people in cars. Runway lights were not switched on. Precautionary engine shutdown and diversion when oil pressure became low- Collided with rising ground at end of turn-off area. Left main gear failed to extend fully because of chock left in wheel well. Emergency evacuation because of hydraulic fluid leaking on to hot brakes. As die aircraft was climbing through 37,000ft (11,300m), the P&W JT9D-20 tail engine suffered uncontained failure and was shut down. Diverted to Denver. Nosegear failed to extend. Right-hand rear cargo door separated at 7,100ft (21,600m) Door has been located. Cause not determined. Baggage cart collided with aircraft damaging main gear and fuselage. Cabin fire. Gear-up landing when gear failed to extend No 3 engine failure. Main gear jammed up. Nosegear collapsed and aircraft left runway. Power transfer shut-off valve in port wheel welt failed, causing loss of both hydraulic systems. Forward door escape slide burst on inflation. Aborted take-off after rotation because, according to crew, aircraft was struck by lightning. Overran runway.
