The major part of the company's traffic is derived from 29 routes radiating from Paris, although a large number of transregional services are also provided. Since 1987 Air France and UTA's parent company, Les Chargeurs, have each increased their share holdings in the airline, with the latter now holding 35.8% and Air France 37%. The company is prohibited by law from operating outside France but has recently concluded an agreement with the flag-carrier to serve Ibiza and Madrid using an Air France flight number. In exchange, Air France now operates services from Paris (CDG) to Marseille using an Air Inter flight number. Air Inter owns 55% of the night freight carrier Intercargo Service, which it set up in 1987 in conjunction with Europe Aero Service and Banqu'e Paribas. History: Air Inter was formed in 1954.
