Uniontown, Ohio: Where the air is clean, the sweet corn tender, and it's 22° below in July. Some people say the com from Uniontown is Ohio's best. Of course, they're all from Uniontown. But if you're ever visiting BFGoodrich De-icing at harvest time, we'll make sure you take home some and decide for yourself. Clean air is one of Uniontown's main assets. We've even heard of folks from as far away as Canal Fulton coming here just for the air. BFGordrich De-icing is the town's other big asset. But so far, no one from Canal Fulton has visited us. The BFGoodrich icing tunnel might not be well known in Uniontown, but the world's leading ice researchers know it well. NASA Lewis Research Center, Boeing Military, Boeing Helicopter, M.IX, Ohio State University, The FA A., General Electric, and many others have conducted tests in our tunnel. That's because it's one of the world's most modem facilities. One technician can operate the fully automated 200-foot loop with a series of microprocessor controls that set and maintain tunnel temperature as well as air and water temperatures and pressures. But what really makes our tunnel unique is its adjacent low-temperature laboratory. This walk-in lab utilizes its own refrigeration system that can simulate ambient temperatures as high as 40 °F or as low as 65°F below. With our low temperature lab, BFGoodrich researchers now have the unprecedented capabilities to investigate ice formation and its effects on aerodynamics, such as the coefficient of lift, drag, and pitching moment. So if you have the need to determine the increase in drag on an airfoil in a particular icing encounter and crave some of the world's best sweet com, Uniontown — and BFGoodrich — is your place. And just in BFGOOdflCh case you can't stop by, callus at (216) 374-3040. Aorncnnro DE-ICING SYSTEMS ©1990 BFGoodrich 7 Quail Hollow. S P f^v Canton
