Stansted and Gatwick • to £17,000 Air UK is a rapidly expanding airline with ambitious plans for future growth. To maintain our competitive edge, we need to be sure that every one of our twenty- seven aircraft is in first-class condition, 24 hours a day; this is why we have created a central maintenance con trol unit to co-ordinate rapid-response, round-the-clock engineering cover. We are now looking for additional experienced aircraft engineers to join the team. Based at Air UK's head office at Stansted airport, the heart of our network, you will provide trouble shooting expertise and advice as problems occur, and marshal all the appropriate engineering resources available on the ground. Working in tandem with the teams who co-ordinate the hour-by-hour movement of our aircraft, you will be in constant contact with station engineers throughout the Group. We also need a liaison engineer to join us at Gatwick, in an "eyes-on" role which complements the work of the Stansted unit. You will be the link between the Maintenance Control Manager and station engi neers, and be responsible for the efficiency of our maintenance contractors at the airport. Sound decision-making skills are vital for these roles: every scenario will test your expertise and initiative. You should be a licensed engineer — if you have a dual licence (A&C) so much the better — with extensive experience in an aircraft engineering environment; you must be able to grasp intricate technical problems, and communicate effectively with engineers to resolve them. Salary will be supported by benefits which include up to 90% discount on flights. We actively encourage our engineers to study for further licences; as Britain's fastest-growing airline, we can offer excellent scope for career development. Please write with full personal details and employment history to Maxine Mayer, Personnel Officer, Air UK Limited, Western House, 2 Cambridge Road, Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex CM24 8QT. j^AirllK Where business takes off FLIGHT INTERNATIONAL 13-19June 1990 97
