fc***^ , Announcing several hundr unscheduled departures. Birds were not meant to fly. At least not inside airliners. The RSPCA estimate that six million wild birds are trap ped to supply European pet shops. Three quarters of them never make it into a cage. They die at every stage of their journey. Including the flight. The RSPCA and EIA want a complete ban on the wild bird trade. Brazil, Bolivia and Paraguay have already banned it. Some airlines like KLM, Sabena and British Airways now refuse to carry them. But these initiatives are not enough. Ruthless dealers will simply seek out other, more co-operative carriers. Nothing less than a total ban through out the EEC will be effective. Ring 0800 400 478 and we will send you a free action pack that shows you how to help in this campaign. Because as long as one airline continues to fly wild birds, some of those birds will never fly again. ENVIRONMENTAL INVESTIGATION AGENCY RSPCA OR WRITE TO RSPCA, DEPT. FL1, FREEP0ST. BRISTOL BS3 3YY
