An integral element of the CAA's operations is the flight calibration of Australia's civil navigation aids. The CAA also undertakes flight inspection and testing of navigation facilities and systems for the Australian Defence Forces, the Civil Aviation Authority of Papua New Guinea and the Airways Corporation of New Zealand. The CAA is considering establishing a subsidiary company to undertake these flight calibration operations on its behalf. The CAA is calling for expressions of interest from government or private organisations willing and able to join the CAA to establish a separate joint venture company to conduct such flight calibration operations. The CAA is also willing to consider provision of an independent service contract for this task.
