Under its contract with major shareholder Continental Airlines, Air Micronesia pro vides personnel, equipment, facilities and ground operation services. Shareholders include Continental Air Lines operating under Chapter 11 protection, which offered for sale its share of Air Micronesia in November 1991, but this was postponed by the bankruptcy court. Previously operating cargo services, the airline started long-haul charters to the Far East, from 1 December, 1991. The main routes served are Prague to Singapore and Hanoi.
