WORLD AIRLINE DIRECTORY Australia-Asia Airline History: the airline began operations in October 1955 as MacRobertson Miller Airline Services (MMA). MMA became a wholly owned division of Ansett Transport Industries. In December 1984, the name was changed to Ansett WA. Fleet: five BAe 146-200, three Fokker F28-1000, two F28-4000. The airline joined IATA in July 1990. History: ALM was formed in 1964 to take over the services of the Caribbean division of KLM, and operations began in August that year. On 1 January, 1969, ALM's major shareholding was transferred from KLM to the Netherlands Antilles Government. History: the airline was formed in 1949 as Arkia Inland Airlines, which in 1972, acquired 50% of the stock of Kanaf Airlines and Aviation Services and formed Kanaf Arkia Airline and Aviation Services. In March 1980, Kanaf Arkia acquired the remaining stock of Arkia and merged the two operations.
