PEOPLE ALLISON ENGINE Dr Blake Wallace, who led the management buy-out team which acquired US manufac turer Allison Engine from Gen eral Motors, has been named chairman and chief executive. Wallace will be joined on the board by executive vice-presi dents Wilson Burns, Mike Hudson and Frank Verkamp, all from Allison. Leon Hendrix, of New York investment firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice — which backed the buy-out — will work with the Allison management team. AVIALL Marshall Taylor has been named president and chief ex ecutive of US engine supplier and parts distributor Aviall, of Dallas, Texas.
