OPERATIONS MANAGER Air Botswana, the national airline of Botswana, requires the services of an experienced and capable manager to lead its Operations Division. Reporting to the General Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for: — the overall Management and Administration of the Operations Division. — the improvement and implementation of flight operations policies and Pilot's development programme. — ensuring that the Corporation safe and efficient operations are in compliance with the Department of Civil Aviation's statutory reauirements. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS In addition to internationally recognised technical and professional gualifications, the successful candidate will have extensive experience in airline transport operations as a Pilot in command with a minimum of three years as Training Captain. Proven management skills, sound knowledge and experience in both financial and human resource management and effective communication skills will be a definite reauirement, A suitably licenced candidate will be expected to carry out line flying in order to better appreciate the corporation's operational environment from a management perspective. It would obviously be an advantage if the applicant already held ratings on the BAe146 and/or ATR42 aircraft which Air Botswana operates, a was experienced in airline operations in Africa or had successfully completed either general or operational management courses such as those conducted by IATA PERIOD OF CONTRACT For expatriates an initial two year contract will be offered. AGE While there are no specific limits, it is anticipated that the successful applicant would be in the 45 to 55 years age bracket. SALARY A competitive remuneration package commensurate with aualifications and experience will be offered.
