DUBAI »»S Lockheed Martin on the possible purchase of up to 70 C-130J Hercules 2 transport aircraft over ten years, to replace its existing fleet of more than 40 C-130E/Hs. With the x\Iiddle East awash with ex-Soviet military aircraft, there are also rich pickings to be made by manufacturers in the upgrade and retro fit market. Russian company Rostvertol, which will be exhibiting for die first time at Dubai '95, has joined forces with Sextant Avionique of France and Russian design bureau Mil, to mod ernise and upgrade the Mi-35M helicopter. The work includes equipping the helicopter with night/adverse-weather combat capability. The major Russian players at the show will be Aviaexport, Kazan Helicopters, Moscow Air ways, Moscow Aviation Production Organ isation, Myasishchev and the Sukhoi and Tupolev design bureaux. Myasishchev will display its M-55 Geo- physica-2. The two-seat high-altitude research aircraft, which will be shown for the first time at Dubai '95is expected to enter service in 1997. MDC will show the AH-64D Longbow- Apache attack helicopter. The aircraft and the mast-mounted millimetre-wave radar, being developed jointly by Westinghouse and Lockheed Martin, will enter full-rate produc tion shortly. EUROFIGHTER MOCK-UP A mock-up of the Eurofighter 2000 will be on dis play in the static park. The four-nation (Germany, Italy, Spain and die UK) combat-aircraft pro gramme has suffered technical delays and pro gramme rescheduling and has recently come under fire from UK financial watchdog the National Audit Office (NAO). The NAO has rec ommended diat, on future collaborative projects, a single company should manage the programme. As the international aerospace industry wres tles with the effects of recession, the oil-rich Middle East continues to grow at a pace. If the groundswell of opinion is unchanged, the Dubai air show will remain popular on the aerospace calendar for years to come. • /A ^ /SS Outdoor /y exhibit park Yellow car park T Toilets V Tower view restaurant R Royal pavilion X Concord terrace restaurant C Check post S Reception and security Green car park T_] Entrance Dubai'95 exhibitor list AABE Holland A789 Abu Dhabi National Oil Co OD115 ACE Hardware B840 ACME Electric A3 75 ADCOM A822 ADE-HML B72 Adnan Trading Establishment A109 ADPR Consult (M) A110 Advanced Electronics Systems A902 Advanced Electronics A850 AEL Systems International A454 AEREA A579 Aero Trade A766 Aero Vodochody A768 Aerogulf Services A91 Aerolux B610 Aeronautical Radio of Thailand 445 Aerospace Industries Association America Aerospatiale A720 Aerosud Agusta A77 Air BP-BP Middle East A920 Air France Industries A865 Air Hanson A440 Air iVlarrel division of Marrel B303 Airbus Industrie B430 Airco Aircraft Manufacturing Factory A909 Aircraft Modular Products A370 Airline Business A20 Al-Futtaim Auto & Machinery B840 Al-Futtaim Motors B84 Al fundi Journal A301 Al Shafar General Trading (AGASCO) Alenia A670 Alitalia A777 Allied Signal Aerospace A320 Alsalam Aircraft A245 Altech Systems AM General 520 AOG A30 Arab Aviation Review B100 Arab Defence Journal A107 Arabian Aviation (Bell Helicopter) B640 Arabian Aviation (BTR Group) B640 ARINC A3 52 Narrow or Wide Bodies.
