The Defence Test and Evaluation Organisation (DTEO) Boscombe Down is the UK's official Centre for the test and evaluation of all military aircraft, their armament and associated equipment. We now operate as a commercial trading agency, with a remit to continue as the prime provider of advice to the MOD whilst developing the potential of our expertise through the expansion of non-MOD business. EMPIRE TEST PILOTS' SCHOOL Aerosystems Tutor c£35,000 & benefits • Boscombe Down, Wiltshire DTEO is divided into discrete departments responsible for groups of similar aircraft types and employ the skills of specialist engineers, scientists, military aircrew and test pilots together with administration and financial support. The Empire Test Pilots' School at Boscombe Down is world renowned for the quality of training provided to test pilots and flight engineers. We are now seeking a qualified Aerosystems Tutor to join our specialist test flying team. You will be responsible for the delivery and development of the School's core ground instruction in Aerosystems to test pilots and flight test engineers. The brief will include the design and implementation of a wide variety of airborne assessment exercises for the whole range of courses offered by the School. As a graduate of the RAF Aerosystems course you must have wide experience as a trials officer in the assessment of modern avionics systems. You will have previously qualified as aircrew and must be medically fit for flight in all the School's aircraft including those equipped with ejection seats. A service qualification and experience as an aircrew instructor would be an advantage, and excellent communication and management skills are essential.
