Combat Aircraft Department Flight Test Engineers working at the leading edge of Military Aircraft Test and Evaluation From £18,000 to £30,000 & benefits (depending on experience) Boscombe Down, Wiltshire & Warton, Lancashire The Defence Test and Evaluation Organisation (DTEO) Boscombe Down is the UK's official Centre for the test and evaluation of all military aircraft, their armament and associated equipment. The organisation is divided into discrete departments responsible for groups of similar aircraft types and employ the skills of specialist engineers, scientists, military aircrew and test pilots together with administration and financial support. The Combat Aircraft Department within DTEO, is now looking for high calibre Flight Test Engineers, at all levels, to join the team responsible for the evaluation of the performance and flying qualities of the Armed Forces' front line combat and training aircraft, including EF2000, Harrier, Tornado, laguar, Hawk and Tucano. Posts will be based either at Boscombe Down in Wiltshire or on permanent detachment at Warton in Lancashire. The work will encompass all aspects of performance and flying qualities to assess the aircraft for suitability for,Service use in its operational role, involving close working relationships with flight test aircrew and other trials specialists. The roles will also involve analysis of the flight test results with state- of-the-art computational methods. We are looking for people with a good knowledge of aircraft test and evaluation and a proven track record in the field of flight testing. We are also seeking to recruit top class aeronautical engineering graduates who wish to pursue a career in flight testing. Successful We now operate as a commercial trading agency, with a remit to continue as the prime provider of advice to the MOD whilst developing the potential of our expertise through the expansion of non-MOD business. applicants will also possess good interpersonal, report writing and organisation skills, as well as the capability to work to agreed parameters of time, cost and quality.
