fljl fJQAr (*> PEOPLE Jim McDonough • BOMBARDIER Jim McDonough has been appointed south-west regional sales manager for Montreal, Quebec-based Bombardier Av iation Services, McDonough, who will be based in Houston, Texas, was formerly regional sales manager for the AR Group, including Air Routing Liter- national and Air Security International. • WORLD World Airways has named Russell Ray interim president and chief executive officer. He has held senior executive positions at Pan Am, McDonnell Douglas and Eastern, and has served on World's board for four years. The US char ter carrier recently terminated the contract of Charles Pollard, who had planned to leave as president and chief executive when his con tract expired this year. • UTC United Technologies, of Hartford, Connecticut, has appointed Ruth Harkin senior vice-president for international affairs and govern ment relations. Harkin, who will serve as chair for UTC Inter national, will be based in Wash ington DC. • ALLIEDSIGNAL Alan Dietrich has been appointed vice-president of government operations and marketing at AlliedSignal Aerospace, of Tor rance, California. Pat Hurley suc ceeds him as vice-president and general manager of the Com munications Systems business of AlliedSignal's Electronic Systems. Earl Major is named vice-presi dent of quality assurance, and Michael Anderson becomes director of operations transition. Vincent Pedotto and Allen MacKnight have been appointed AlliedSignal Aerospace Fellows. • FLS AEROSPACE Stephen Lee has been named vice-president of maintenance ser vices at UK-based maintainer FLS Aerospace, with effect from 1 June. He is now director and general manager of Dowty Aerospace Aviation Services. • FINEMINSTER Nick Probin has been named commercial director at Gatwick- based aircraft-leasing and char- terering firm Fineminster Europe. He was formerly a commercial executive and, before that worked for Air UK and Air Europe. • SOUTHERN AIR Robert Peart has been elected senior vice-president of finance and corporate planning at Southern Air Transport, of Co lumbus, Ohio. He was for merly director of international sales and marketing at Garmin International and, before that, he was with AlliedSignal/King Radio for more man 21 years as vice-pres ident of worldwide marketing and vice-president of international marketing. Patti Walker • AIR FOYLE UK-based specialist-cargo oper ator Air Foyle has opened a sales office in Houston, Texas. Newly appointed chief executive of the US operation is Patti Walker, who has experience in airfreight forwarding and charter. She will also manage the representative office in Seattle.
