PEOPLE • GEAE James McNerney has taken up the role of president and chief executive of GE Aircraft Engines (GEAE) of Evendale, Ohio, having been named for the position in August. McNerney, formerly pres ident and chief executive of GE Lighting, based in Cleveland, Ohio, replaces Gene Murphy, who is promoted to vice-chairman of the board and executive officer at GEAE parent General Electric of Fairfield, Connecticut. • DIAMOND Michael Slingluff has been pro moted to president of Canadian light-aircraft manufacturer Dia mond Aircraft, of London, On tario. He was formerly executive vice-president. • TNT Bob O'Donneil has become man aging director of airline-manage ment organisation TNT Inter national Aviation Services, of Windsor, Berkshire, UK, a division of TNT Express Worldwide. He was previously managing director of Excalibur Airways and is a for mer deputy chief accountant at Britannia Airways. • DUNCAN Aircraft-service organisation Dun can Aviation, of Lincoln, Nebras ka, has named Aaron Hilkemann president. He joined the company in 1995 as executive vice-president and chief operating officer. • BFGOODRICH Stephen Henderson has become vice-president and general manag er for the component-services divi sion of BFGoodrich Aerospace Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul Group. He was formerly general manager of sales and marketing at GE Engine Services and, before that, was managing director of Aviall Caledonian Engine Services in Scotland, UK. • AAAE/IAAE Spencer Dickerson, executive vice-president of the American As sociation of Airport Executives (AAAE), has been named executive of AAAE affiliate the International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE). Will James, the AAAE's director of accreditation and train ing, becomes IAAE managing di rector for Canadian affairs. • BAe Richard Deakin has become vice- president for commercial aero space at British Aerospace. He was formerly operations centre manag er for single-aisle, based at Chester, and, before that, he was project manager for widebody operations. • DEUTSCHE BA Philip Saunders has been ap pointed head of marketing and sales for British Airways' German subsidiary, Deutsche BA. Saunders has worked for British Airways since 1990, with responsibility for the development and marketing of various BA routes into Central and Eastern Europe, holding the posts of district manager in St Peters burg and area sales manager for western Switzerland, among oth ers. He was formerly general manager of the United Airlines maintenance centre, based at In dianapolis, Indiana. • ALPHA Kevin Abbott has been appointed chief executive of the UK's ALPHA Airports Group. He was formerly board director at Rexam, responsible for international pack aging and then for global food and beverages packaging. • AXA GLOBAL Jean Masse has become director of the aviation division of France's Paris-based AXA Group, which specialises in large commercial and international risks. Richard Thwaites • HYMATIC Richard Thwaites has been ap pointed business-development director, and joins the board, of the UK's Hymatic Engineering, of Redditch, Worcestershire, part of the Cobham Group and which specialises in the design and manufacture of cryogenic systems for infra-red imaging, and other applications for aero space and defence.
