Northwest flying high with the 131-9[A]. Northwest Airlines has selected AlliedSignal's 131-9JA] APU to equip its 50 firm and 100 option A31l> aircraft, joining a growing number of airlines that rely on the I31-9|A| to ensure passenger comfort and main engine start up. Since its introduction in January 1998, the 131-9| A | has 287 firm orders for new A320 series aircraft and 306 options from customers including GE Capital, China Eastern Airlines, Royal Brunei, Leisure International Airways, Iberia, Tunisair, l.otusair, TAM, l'ACA Group, I.an Chile, Monarch, Aer I.ingus, and Alitalia.
