When it comes to aircraft test and evaluation, the unique facility at DERA Boscombe Down near Salisbury is a prime UK source of independent expertise in the evaluation and acceptance testing of all military aircraft, their weapons and associated equipment. Our specialist teams work on the combat aircraft of today and tomorrow-enjoying considerable responsibility and intellectual autonomy as they deliver quality solutions at the forefront of their specialist fields. If you are a degree or HNC qualified engineer with the knowledge, credibility and communication skills to perform in such a diverse and challenging environment, this is your chance to join us through the following opportunities. This includes providing technical guidance on the management and execution of assessments and trials activities, as well as authorising technical reports that detail recommendations for Military Aircraft Release. You must have previous experience at a senior level in aircraft test and evaluation - preferably on fast jet aircraft - and your qualifications are likely to include an aeronautical degree. (Ref: 2389) Flight Test Engineers Up to £30,000 & benefits Working within the Performance and Flying Qualities section, you will manage and execute assessments and trials to produce appropriate recommendations for Military Aircraft Release. The planning, conduct, analysis and reporting of ground and air trials are all part of your brief. To succeed, you must have a good knowledge of aircraft test and evaluation, supported by a proven track record in flight test and appropriate engineering qualifications or equivalent experience. (Ref: 2390) Trials Officer Up to £33,000 & benefits We are also looking for a high-grade specialist to join our Mission Systems team evaluating EF2000. You will need broad experience of integrated avionics, weapon aiming systems and advanced weapons, ideally gained in an engineering environment, although a fast jet aircrew background may be suitable if backed by avionics training. Familiarity with flight trials work would be a distinct advantage, but just as important will be your team spirit, technical know-how and willingness to travel at short notice. (Ref: 2391) As well as diversity of experience, you can look forward to comprehensive training and excellent career prospects, matched by an attractive salary and benefits package including non-contributory pension and generous holidays.
