Helicopter Pilot c. £32,000 The National Grid Company is a FTSE 100 world class business, performing the vital role of transmitting electricity between generating and distribution companies throughout England and Wales. We are currently seeking to recruit a Helicopter Pilot to join the helicopter team on an initial twelve month fixed term contract. The company operates three AS 355 helicopters on power line support, including live line work. As the company has established an excellent reputation in its field and places great emphasis on customer support, you must be able to display high standards of piloting skills and a high awareness of customer care. Based at National Grid's Operations Room in Didcot, you will work on power line support throughout the United Kingdom and must, therefore, expect to spend time away from the base. It is essential that you have 3,000 hours total flying experience, with at least 2,000 hours as Pilot in Command and at least 2,000 hours on helicopters. You should have extensive low level flying experience and power line inspection experience would be desirable. You must be self motivated and have the ability to work within a small team. You will also have ATPL (H) with first class medical. It is also desirable that you have a AS 355 rating, underslung load experience, including long line work and TRE.
