Working closely with the magazine's international team of journalists, you will be required to produce colour illustrations, maps, charts and other aviation- related artwork for the news and features sections each week. Candidates must be able to interpret a news story or feature topic, and produce a quality graphic image which presents information clearly for Flight International's audience of aviation professionals worldwide. A team player and good communicator, you will be expected to liaise with journalists and the magazine's production staff to undertake artwork research, come up with ideas and meet the magazine's demanding weekly schedules. Apart from possessing the imagination and flair to develop new standards in professional magazine artwork, candidates must have an interest in aviation and be able to demonstrate this at interview. You will ideally have formal illustration training, holding either a Degree, BTEC, HND, or City and Guilds Part II in Technical Illustration, and be fully competent in advanced Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator software, QuarkXPress 3.32 and conversant with Apple Macintosh systems.
