PARIS 2001 combat aircraft choice at Le Bourget. Another major European milestone could come with the signature of the six- nation contract to develop the Meteor ramjet-powered beyond visual range air-to- air missile. This could unlock a Boeing initiative to devel op a derivative of the missile to meet a US Navy require ment for an air-defence suppression weapon. On the general aviation front one of the most excit ing developments is likely to come from Dassault as it reveals plans for a new range of business jets to replace the Falcon family. The first member, the successor to the top-of-the-range Falcon 900, will be announced at the show, to be followed later by replacements for die mid-size Falcon 50 and super mid-size Falcon 2000. The choice of engine suppli er is also likely to be revealed. The Northrop Grumman B-2 bomber will make its second appearance at the show, while Airbus will fly the world's longest civil transport, the A340-600, which had its maiden flight in April. Antonov plans to bring its own monster, the six-engined An-225, and the Northrop Grumman Global Hawk unmanned air vehicle • l^.]^[M.KIi.I;^k^i];k TRADE VISITORS From Saturday, 16 June to Sunday, 24 June 09.30 to 18.00 Monday-Friday. GENERAL PUBLIC Only admitted 09.30-18.00 on Sunday, 17 June and Saturday and Sunday, 2 3 and 24 June. Minors below the age of 18 will only be admitted on these days. Admission price: for trade visitors is Frl75 ($2 3 % including tax, and for the general public FrS5. is expected to arrive at the show after an autonomous transadantic flight to Le Bourget. If reservations are anything to go by, the show will be easily the busiest ever. For the first time, the fall quota of chalets has been snapped up, forcing the organisers to find space for more — all ofrwhich nave been taken already. Demand fifr hall space has also exceeded the 52,OOOm2 GETTING THERE FROM THE AIRPORT From Charles De Gaulle Airport, take the RER B train to Le Bourget station, then the 152 bus. Le Bourget station is approximately 24min from the main line station Gare du Nord with two trains every 15min. BYROAD Take the Al motorway toward Lille and Charles de Gaulle. A slip road leads to the show's parking area before exit N5. Approachinfl^from the east side of Paris, take the A3 motorway from Porte de Bagnolet and exit at Garonor. Journey time is 2 5min-1 h, depending on traffic. It is advisable to use the A86 motorway from La Defense, or the highways along the left bank of the Seine River which offer an easy route to St Denis. BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT From Paris to the exhibition: (560,000ft2) capacity. A new dimension comes with the debut of a sectorised international "Global Solutions" pavilion focusing primarily on leading-edge aerospace technologies. The 4,000m2 hall will showcase developments from around 100 companies and will feature daily presentations by industry leaders on industry trends. • • RER (Reseau Express Regional, or suburban, express trains) Line B - Direction Mitry-Claye. Get off the train at the Le Bourget station.
