World airliner census The data in this census cover all commercial jet and turboprop-powered transport aircraft in ser vice or on firm order with the world's airlines, excluding aircraft which carry fewer than 18 passengers or the equivalent in cargo. The tables are in two sections, the first listing, compiled from the Airclaims CASE database, recording the fleets of the Western-built airlin ers. The second section records the fleets of Russian/CIS built types with data provided by Paul Duffy, who also compiled the information on the Let 410 in part one. The information is correct to the beginning of September and excludes non-airline operators, such as leasing companies. Aircraft are listed by region in alphabetical order by manufacturer, then by operator, with any aircraft variant in brackets next to the operator's name. Outstand ing firm orders are shown in parentheses. The former MOC types which remained in produc tion after the merger are listed under Boeing. The region is dictated by the base of the operator, and does not necessarily indicate the area of operation. Options and letters of intent (where a firm contract has not been signed) are not included. Orders by, and aircraft with, leas ing companies are excluded, unless a confirmed end user is known - in which case the aircraft is shown against the airline con cerned. Aircraft known to be parked or in temporary storage are included. Operators' fleets include leased aircraft. Technical data can be found in the two-part Commercial Aircraft directory (Flight International, 28 August - 3 September and 4 - 10 September).
