APPOINTMENTS TEL +44 (20) 8652 4896 OR FAX +44 (20) 8652 4802 EMAIL flightrec@rbi.co.uk A far from uniform experience FLIGHT SIMULATOR INSTRUCTORS - PILOTS AND NAVIGATORS RAF Coningsby Strike Command controls the RAF's front line aircraft world-wide with crews flying fighters, transport and maritime aircraft and helicopters in defence of the UK and its interests abroad. As members of the MoD Civil Service, each of the 5,000 civilians at Strike Command plays a vital role in ensuring the Command meets its many commitments. As you can imagine, our pilots require continuous ongoing training of the highest possible standard. Join us as a Flight Simulator Instructor and we will entrust you with providing this. Using the UK's most advanced flight simulators, you'll deliver both academic and practical instruction on aircraft systems, emergency procedures and operational routine. We currently have opportunities at RAF Coningsby for one Flight Simulator Instructor (Tornado), and oneTornado F3 Navigator. You will have experience as a military fast jet pilot/navigator, preferably in the air defence role. For both posts, instructional experience and QFI, QWI or EWI qualifications would be additional advantages. You will also be required to demonstrate your ability as a team player, an effective communicator and proactive change manager. However, we do not expect you to carry out this vital task unaided. You will be given every opportunity to develop and enhance your specialist knowledge, shown by the MoD's commitment to promoting career development for all staff.To demonstrate this commitment, the MoD has pursued the Investors In People accreditation, which RAF Strike Command and its associated stations have all achieved. It is this backing that will provide a platform for you to tackle the wide range of responsibilities that we will entrust you with in this demanding and dynamic environment. The starting salary is £20,115pa rising to £27,932pa through performance pay awards.The positions also attract a Recruitment and Retention Allowance of £5,000 and in some instances, relocation assistance of up to £5,000 may be offered. You will also enjoy 25 days' annual leave, rising to 30 days after 10 years' service, and 10V2 days' public and privilege holidays. Previous Royal Air Force service may count towards the qualifying point for 30 days' leave. An additional benefit is membership of the Principle Civil Service Pension Scheme.
